Hey, I’m Tammy!
My curiosity with watercolors began in 2018. Prior to that, I spent years watching videos & reading blogs of watercolor artists breaking down the basics of painting all while thinking “nahhhh, I’ll never be able to do that”, until one day I decided to purchase an inexpensive pallet of paints and paper and give it a go. From that day forward I was hooked!
What captivates me the most about watercolor is its unpredictability—the way water and pigments collide, creating unique results every time. No two pieces are ever alike and that's what makes the process so therapeutic. As someone who tends to crave control, watercolor painting challenges me to let go and embrace the unexpected. Each piece becomes a personal reflection of my thoughts and emotions. Sometimes that reflection isn’t very pretty to look at but it always translates as peace because the emotions have been released from my soul.
More recently, I have begun to apply techniques that I have learned with watercolors to large canvases using watery acrylic paints.
“Each piece becomes a personal expression of my thoughts and emotions—a reflection of surrender.”
